Prairie Vole Conspiracy
This trio consists of locally famous (Stillwater, OK) children's musician Monty Harper on vocals and U-Bass, Monty's wife, Lisa, on ukulele, and their friend Donald on cajon and other percussion. They cultivate a unique sound, with inventive arrangements featuring funky bass lines, complex rhythms, and vocal harmonies. Their musical style ranges from fifties rock pastiche to Beatles-inspired pop with some folk, funk, and country woven in. The songs celebrate love and life with imaginative, off-kilter lyrics that appeal to parents, children, and the young at heart.
“After posting a year's worth of weekly new songs to YouTube, I realized I had a body of work I want to bring to a wider audience,” says Monty. “Many of these songs aren't aimed firmly at kids, though they are all kid-friendly. The music and concepts are sophisticated enough to call this ”adult" music, while still being fun and inviting for all ages. We started rehearsing and playing small gigs with Donald around June 2025, and now we're ready to unleash our brand of brilliant weirdness upon the waiting world!"
